Childrens Ministry Beliefs

Children’s Ministry Beliefs

1. Ministry (not just baby sitting) applies to all children.

2. Jesus said to make disciples of all (this includes Kids!).

3. There should be an attitude of gratitude
at all times and in all we do.

4. The importance of Children’s Ministry needs to be
appreciated by the whole Church.

5. We need to be creative and have fun in ministry -
both adults and children. Celebrate Jesus!

6. We are a team. No one is ever alone in a classroom,
we all care and support one another.

7. We need to teach God’s Word, in truth, and in power.
Believing it absolutely.

8. We need to meet children where they are.
We need to be relevant.

9. Children need to be listened to - they are important.

10. Parents need to know their children are safe
and are being taught truth.

Teach as though
the future depends on it
- - - it does.

A Mandate For Ministry To Children

A MANDATE FOR MINISTRY TO CHILDREN

1. GOD’S VIEW ON CHILDREN’S PRAISE

We teach them how to praise
Matthew 21:16 "Do you hear what these children
are saying?" they asked him.
"Yes," replied Jesus, "have you never read, "
`From the lips of children
and infants you have ordained praise'?" (NIV)

We shape values and behavior
Proverbs 20:11 Even a child is known by his deeds,
Whether what he does is pure and right.(NKJV)

We have opportunity to whet their appetite for God
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it. (NKJV)

Psalm 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (NKJV)

2. GOD’S VIEW OF CHILDREN

God is looking for Godly children
Malachi 2:15 But did He not make them one,
Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one?
He seeks godly offspring.
Therefore take heed to your spirit,
And let none deal treacherously
with the wife of his youth. (NKJV)

Children are precious to God’s Heart
Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage
from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward. (NKJV)

Children are precious to Jesus
Mark 10:13-16 Then they brought little children to Him,
that He might touch them;
but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
But when Jesus saw it,
He was greatly displeased and said to them,
"Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them;
for of such is the kingdom of God. "Assuredly, I say to you,
whoever does not receive the kingdom of God
as a little child will by no means enter it.”
And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them,
and blessed them. (NKJV)

3. INSTRUCTION ABOUT GOD IS COMMANDED
BY HIM:

We are to teach diligently
Deuteronomy 6:5-7 "You shall love the LORD your God;
with all your heart,
with all your soul,
and with all your strength.
And these words which I command you today
shall be in your heart.
"You shall teach them diligently to your children,
and shall talk of them when you sit in your house,
when you walk by the way, when you lie down,
and when you rise up.... (NKJV)

That their confidence will be in God
Psalm 78:5-7 ..... Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children;
That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children,
That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments; (NKJV)

4. CHILDREN HAVE ACCESS TO
THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THEIR LIVES

Children have a part in the Kingdom
Acts 2:16-17 "But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.’ (NKJV)

2 Timothy 3:15a and that from childhood you have known
the Holy Scriptures, (NKJV)

The Heart For Children's Ministry

The Heart For Children’s Ministry

Teaching children about Jesus is

one of the greatest callings a person can answer.
For many of those who have not heard,
we will have the unique privilege of introducing them
to Jesus for the first time.

For others, we will have the opportunity to train,
lead by sharing God’s Word and living God's word
and giving understanding that they
may mature in their Christian walk.

There is a cost, as in any calling

and James warns us that we
will be held accountable
for what we teach.
But, the rewards are many!

Statistics show that the largest percent

of people saved (80% or more)
were brought to Jesus under the age of 12 years.
How important it is today to reach our children early,
so that they will know the truth
and the truth shall set them free …
free from the grasp of sin.

As teachers, you are actually

investing in the lifetime of a child.
Their early experiences of who
the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are,
will so change their lives and their perspective on life
that they will in turn touch others for the Kingdom.

“Where children are treasured & trained,
and the Teachers are heroes!”
